 Ruth and I celebrated our 18th wedding anniversary last weekend by hiking into Grewingk Glacier. The glacier is park of Kachemak Bay State Park on the south side of the Bay. We took our boat, Skookum, and anchored it offshore. The hike takes about an hour, one way. Ruth took a photo of me shooting a small iceberg. I went in twice because I couldn't stand the cold for more than about 3 minutes. I had rolled up my pant legs but ended up wading out deeper to "get the shot".
